Hello everyone My name is Judah Im the lead singer in a band named HEROD. We currently have a full lenght album out on LIFE FORCE RECORDS and were working on new material for the next album Im posting to maybe gain a few new fans. Our music is best deifned as the revival of rock and metal. The music is pure and clean. Wow, I love IDAHO, too. I agree; "Alas" is a great album. And yes, those are indeed four-string guitars.
Oh, wait. Your post didn't have anything to do with IDAHO. Forgive me for assuming your first post here would be at all on topic. Stupid, stupid, stupid... So, your music is the revival of rock and metal? That's quite an impressive feat; I can't believe I'd never heard of you before. Congrats. Well, I think I'm going to singlehandedly try to revive classical music now. I should be able to finish by dinner time...

just for the hell of it, i checked out the almighty Herod... and let me say that i haven't heard so many split harmonics and sweeping arpegio hammer-ons since 1987 or '88! it's crap. i couldn't even make it through to hear any singing. well done, judas, or whoever. it's hard to believe these dudes are actually on a label.
Dear Judah, i won't rant about this too much. i'll start by saying that i actually respect people who are doing what they believe in and can actually keep a band together for the sake of music they believe in. that being said however, this music is just like every metal/rock band here in DFW. they all sound the same. they all claim to bring back the rock and have no ounce of originality to the sound, progressions, arrangements, or lyrics. carbon copied just like most country music. it doesn't do any good to learn all the techniques and solos in all the popular or your favorite songs without being able to make it your own. i hate music like this and the people who play it because they think they are the shit. go to any metal club/bar starting on thursday nights and this is exactly what you will hear all over the country. you should be proud. we all salute you.
i know he'll never come back to read this thread again, but just to prove my point and to possibly help him out if they tour, here's our local musicians site. check out all the rock and metal bands.
